The Naked Truth

I’m sharing my thoughts on a public forum;
dare I question the emperor, without clothes;
must truth be silenced as improper decorum;
I feel I’m the thorn on the rose.

Emotionally, I’ve been to the mountaintop;
then, descended to the valley, below;
our resistance to evil must not ever stop;
if it does; we cease to grow.

A modern day Goliath; blocks my path;
for I have annoyed earth’s false king;
he intends to rain down his impending wrath;
amazing what ire; mere words can bring.

How dare I question the flat earth society;
can the emperor ever be wrong;
the emperor’s son is the essence of sobriety;
why can’t we all, get along?

Truth is something that few talk about;
it’s been replaced by a narrative;
when voices reach the level of a shout;
the lies appear more imperative.

Knowledge; like truth; is no longer important;
lies, very often, win out;
elections are more about proper deportment;
a winsome smile is what it’s about.

I’m sharing my thoughts on a public forum;
where evil seeks power; his will to impose;
truth must be silenced as improper decorum;
I can’t say:  “The emperor has no clothes!”
