The Money Lords
It’s often stated: the rich just get richer;
and rhe poor, get poorer, as well;
sadly, it defines the true life picture;
as the poor suffer in a living hell.
In my youth, any millionaire was a king;
today; those millions aren’t enough;
the rich of the past; now want everything;
there’s no such thing, as too much.
Money is the ultimate “coin of the realm”
money buys influence and power;
the poor must bow to despots at the helm;
the rich grow richer, by the hour.
Government became the rich man’s throne;
lawmakers became like vassals and lords;
taxes and laws, favored the rich all alone;
with exemptions; only they could afford.
Lawyers became beneficiaries of the laws;
to define every dot and cross every t.
creatively, they redefined every clause;
only they could say; what was to be.
Government grew completely out of control;
confiscating money from the masses;
a beaurocracy, devoid of conscience or soul;
there was no limit to their taxes.
This world will collapse to a mountain of cash;
by the actions of those, most deplored;
ultimately, this kingdom shall turn into ash;
as all pay homage to the money lords.
