The Lesson of Goldilocks
I remember the story of Goldilocks;
very clearly she was nobody’s fool;
definitely she was as smart as a fox;
and yet lived by her very own rule.
She visited the home of Papa Bear,
on this one particular occasion.
Fortunately, the bears were not there,
on the scene of life’s first home invasion.
Now Goldy was picky, you can be sure;
sampling porridge, chairs and the bed;
two servings of porridge tasted like manure;
so she opted for the third one instead.
When Goldy decided to sample the chairs;
the third greeted her seat with a crash;
deciding it was time to venture upstairs,
it might be where the bear had his stash.
Arriving upstairs, Goldy lost her awares;
seeing beds, she realized she was sleepy.
Quickly dozing off and losing all cares;
awakened by Papa Bear; it was creepy.
When you eat porridge that belongs to another,
it can lead you to a life of crime;
but when you seize what belongs to a brother;
bad things happen, unexpected, sometime.
It’s fine to have thieving up your sleeve;
there’s much you can do, while alone;
but the smart among us knows when to leave;
before Papa Bear returns home.
