The Greatest "Fish Story" Ever Told

God has some wisdom He wishes to share;
but, He has chosen a fool to write it.
He could have chosen anyone, anywhere;
why would He choose me to confide it?

He could have selected a magical wordcrafter;
a spellbinder, guaranteed to catch your attention;
or sent down a wizard from His own hereafter;
projecting that image from another dimension.

A lifelong pastor, from a large congregation;
would also seem to be an obvious choice;
one to teach about love’s implementation;
speaking in a booming god-like voice.

So, why would the Master ever choose me?
I don’t come close to fitting the mold;
It’s not who we’ve been; but, who we’re to be;
even at a time, when growing old.

Don’t get me wrong, God’s chosen many others;
He may have picked you, as one of His choices;
He is the ventriloquist of all sisters and brothers;
and, often supplies all of their voices.

Once, the Master picked some fishermen;
those noted for often telling “fish stories”.
with His teaching, they soon would begin;
explaining the truth, and God’s glories.

For wisdom and truth have a voice, all their own;
no matter, from what mouth they proceed;
whether they’re from a fool, or the Master’s throne;
they are the living water, all need.
