The Goal Of Life
What is the main goal in your life;
what you’re most motivated to do;
is it to find a good husband or wife;
is that what’s important to you?
Or maybe your children are on top;
their success means everything to you;
and, if they fail, you will feel a flop;
do their successes to you, accrue?
Though these things be noble and good;
they are not what this life is about.
much more important is brotherhood;
giving; more than you take out.
Most important is how you treat others;
for that relates most to life’s tranquility;
to treat all you meet as sisters and brothers;
is truly an advanced form of nobility.
Choose any vocation you wish to choose;
it matters very little what is your call;
even a simple carpenter can’t lose;
for a carpenter is the Lord of All.
You need not ever become a world champion;
not even the champ of your neighborhood;
all you need be, is a good companion;
and, always ever, a champion for good.
Perfection; the sunrise we all wish to see;
signifying evil’s permanent end;
resurrection; the sunset, I want to be me;
a new life to which I’ll ascend.
