The Enemy You’re Fighting

We enter this life; screaming and crying;
and so, all our battles begin;
thru history; all have been fighting and dying;
yet; all battles commence within.

Some almost seemed my enemy, by fate;
we would never appear to agree;
while others, without reason, would hate;
perhaps it was the Master’s decree.

Families would argue; friends, as well;
even some husbands and wives;
many, given secrets; mistakenly tell;
regreting it; the rest of their lives.

Nations fight over resources and land;
totalitarions; entrenced and in charge;
contrary opinions completely banned;
leaders, become despots; at large.

With truth; the arrogant, cannot relate;
a thought, the faithless find odd;
I shall become an enemy of the state;
when the state is the enemy of God.

The river of life flows thru a mystical fjord;
eroding many rocks on each side;
causing sorrow and grief to our Master and Lord;
within each rock; it’s love, that’s died.

Battles, we’ve fought; don’t go as planned;
your enemy has many traits, you imbue;
you’ll never succeed; till you understand;
that enemy you’re fighting, is you.
