The Earthquake’s Fault
Everyone looks for someone to blame;
to the others, we must assign guilt;
the fault must be given someone’s name;
tho all mistakes are merely milk spilt.
Why must bad things so often occur;
the underlying reason for purpose;
to a much higher wisdom I must refer;
fault is a crack in reality’s surface.
An earthquake is a metaphor for all of life;
a fault is a schism; within reality;
an earthquake, between husband and wife;
all life is a complex duality.
Truth is the separation of man from beast;
from the winds, and waters of rain;
cascading down from greatest to least;
earthquakes have nothing to gain.
Hurricanes are earthquakes in the air;
merely, nature letting off steam;
God demanding we show that we care;
hinting this life is only a dream.
Life’s the ebb and flow of destruction;
a battle of evil with good;
an illusion of death; then reconstruction;
all of it; misunderstood.
This schism of earth will soon pass away;
we dare not look back to assign fault;
all will become made new on that day;
all lies shall become a pillar of salt.
