The Dynamics Of Guilt
Guilt is a most unique form of retribution;
where the guilty, is both judge and jury;
it often becomes a form of self persecution;
where even hell, has not seen such fury.
Most people were created to be analytical;
a trait that some of us turn within;
the result of such; makes us self critical;
judging ourselves for every sin.
Our tendency to judge; gets in our way;
our mind starts banging the gavel;
the intensity of guilt grows, day by day;
till our peace begins to unravel.
Guilt is a seed; thoughts planted within;
our mind searches for excuses;
the dynamics of guilt, suddenly kick in;
any clemency; the self refuses.
Guilt begins as the tiniest of seeds;
planted in the garden of thought;
transforming the garden into weeds;
non have done what we ought.
Guilt grows; till we can stand it no more;
punishment is what we deserve;
something inside, tries to even the score;
but Love is the God we serve.
Guilt is the reason, we’re told not to judge;
we each know we’re guilty, too;
we’re also more likely to hold a grudge;
and the guilty are just like you.
