Laughter is the magic elixir;
soothing all the tensions, inside;
it’s the perfect energy fixer;
the smile, we attempt to hide.

Our smile is the only mask to wear;
establishing collegial bliss;
sending a signal of love and care;
a psychological kiss.

Laughter sends all anger scurrying;
you cannot be angry and smile;
it also grants a respite for worrying;
brightening the day, for a while.

Laughter never requires a prescription;
it’s not, by government, restricted;
yet, it’s a balm for most any infliction;
and never need be interdicted.

Laughter, however, is very contagious;
beginning with the slightest smile;
preventing its spread, seems outrageous;
its harmless; and lasts, but a while.

Laughter could be thought a voice’s smile;
one which is thought, long overdue;
for, laughter will never cause one to rile;
unless its joke is on you.

All other prescriptions, please jettison;
all things considered; when done;
laughter is not the best medicine;
in actuality, it’s the only one.
