Thank You For Today

I feel I’ve lived here, too many years;
tho, in eternity; it’s merely a day;
my soul, often, drowning in my tears;
feeling my life, ebbing away.

I’ve come to realize life is a mystery;
in truth; our life has no end;
forgive me, Lord; for my past history;
for peace; on you, I depend.

This life is just, one season, to learn;
there may have been others, before;
it’s only a gift; not something we earn;
after death; life flows; once more.

Your oceans have given a picture of life;
as they constantly ebb and flow;
created to live as husband and wife;
our conflicts, help us to grow.

For we are the seeds of your unending love;
planted to serve at your pleasure;
each, given special gifts from above;
meant for service; not leisure.

That we still live; means we have purpose;
our lives are thoughts; turned into a play;
all of life, has reason; under the surface;
teach me Lord; your will for today.

Thank you for today, Lord; there is no other;
tomorrow; for me; may not come;
help me to love every sister and brother;
in eternity; we all become one.
