Tears Never Lie
There are many ways to communicate;
in order to give thoughts a voice;
but, some of those ways manipulate;
if deception becomes a choice.
Emotions are undefined by mere words;
not reflecting a mind’s true intentions;
words are sometimes, thoughts slurred;
our imagination’s inventions.
And so, we include physical expressions;
a frown or a smile seem up to the task;
especially when we’re making confessions;
hoping those lies, we tell, will last.
Many a smile comes filled with deceit;
one can’t tell by the look in the eye;
empty words make the deception complete;
but, most of us know: tears never lie.
Emotions can make us lose all control;
we can sense the truth in a voice;
all truth abides, deep within the soul;
deception is no longer a choice.
We often attempt to control our thought;
not allowing our emotions to show;
suddenly, from the soul, truth is brought;
and a river of tears starts to flow.
Resistance to truth can often be futile;
when deception is what you imbue;
out of control tears, can be brutal;
tears may not lie; but you do.
