Taming Mother Nature

Man seeks to gain complete control;
over all creation’s environment;
a heady challenge for a mere soul;
to live up to its requirement.

We, who are mere objects of creation;
somehow assume we’ll take control;
to do so, requires the mind’s elevation;
for such is an impossible goal.

To emulate One who holds back the waves;
and commands the winds: Be still;
to say nothing of being able to empty graves;
for such are only the Master’s will.

We may choose to call God, mother nature;
as tho He’s merely another being;
what’s in a name; but mere nomenclature;
God is the ultimate power, unseen.

We seek control over the power of creation;
as tho a mere man could be king;
but, the One who has orchestrated salvation;
still has control over everything.

Mother Nature, answers to God; the omnipotent;
standing watch over His vast domain;
the greatest among us, becomes insignificant;
and owe our allegience to His name.

Mother Nature is our substitute for God;
an image for the Master’s domain;
thinking we can tame it; seems rather odd;
then, only God will remain.
