My Secret Longing

There are things in life we simply can’t have;
and we battle over questioning why;
thoughts, alone, can’t provide the salve;
our secret longing leads us to cry.

As children we long for an expensive toy;
for which we have no need;
oh those tricks,

If only I’d known; what I’ve since learned;
I would have made different choices;
I likely would have earned; more than I earned;
and listened to a few different voices.

A Measure Of You

Dear Lord, I humbly pray and beseach;
on this; another new day;
lacking wisdom; to you, I reach;
Lord, please light my way.

I stumble and fall; on my eternal path;
not knowing what to do or to say;
you’ve given love; when I deserved

The Strength To Go On

The past, didn’t last; it’s finally over;
much I have known is now gone;
now that I’ve grown very much older;
I need more strength to go on.

The energy me; never grows tired;
it creates dreams in my sleep;

Tears No Longer Needed

Our lives are filled with sorrows and fears;
no matter how much we’ve succeeded;
all toxic energies; are removed by our tears;
tho in heaven, they’re no longer needed.

For tears are the bearers of a toxic past;
draining energies of hate and sorrow;

A Lonely Place

It seems, I’ve taken leave of this reality;
my thoughts, floating in empty space;
mindful there’s no true death or finality;
this in-between world is a lonely place.

I can see all the people coming and going;
but, what is their final destination;
my mind

The Influence Of A Stranger

Some claim they’ve never met a stranger;
but I doubt they’re telling the truth;
people, we don’t know; put us in danger;
could it be; those people are aloof?

We know we’re influenced by actions and words;
whether they be good

The Promise Of Tomorrow

Never put off until tomorrow;
what you can do, today;
on our future; none can borrow;
our time may slip away.

Lives mustn’t be lived on the ‘morrow’
for tomorrow may never come;
on our future; we cannot borrow;
tomorrow; we may succumb.
