REALITY

How wide a home is eternity?
How long will forever last?
What’s the size of life’s fraternity;
when does present morph into past?

How does today relate to tomorrow;
is time a sliding scale?
How does happiness change into sorrow;
and other like feelings unveil?

Will the sun

I look back on all of my past;
thinking what I’d rearrange;
nothing from history ever lasts;
and history, cannot be changed.

For all of the past has been frozen;
every part of it;  etched in stone;
constant anguish from choices, chosen;
and I can’t go change it

A daisy will never become a rose;
nor a honey bee change to a bird;
a builder most likely will not compose;
the sweetest song that we heard.

A grizzly bear won’t adopt a fish;
he will likely eat him, instead;
a wishing well won’t grant a wish;

Today, I took a taste of life;
my palate sensing it’s flavor;
even tho embracing strife;
each single experience, savor.

Awakened; emerging from my cocoon;
the death of nighttime, now gone;
this new day couldn’t come too soon;
for I was ready for life to go on.

Yesterday

What exactly is meant by depth;
is it some form of linear distance;
and what is the meaning of breadth;
is it width, at word’s insistence?

Words enable us to define reality;
but, sometimes they express lies;
words occasionally speak of finality;
yet, we all know nothing dies.

How

There’s so much in life I can’t see;
it seems as though I can’t win.
Must failure be part of my destiny;
am I finished, before I begin?

Failure is the great teacher of life;
perhaps that’s what I’m to be;
if you doubt it;
