The Ferris Wheel

There’s a most spectacular carnival ride;
an enormous wheel; turned on its end;
carrying passengers, on seating, inside;
rotating; allowing they rise and descend.

Upon their reaching its ultimate height;
they’re given a view of a world below;
it’s a most memorable, spectacular sight;

Growing Old

What takes place; as we grow old;
allowing the body to age?
To many, a bill of nonsense, was sold:
“the old could no longer engage.”

Most expect wisdom to come with years;
but, that isn’t always how it’s to be;
I endured many trials; shed

Hallowed Ground

I walked the store, where we had shopped;
not a trace of her could be found;
tho she was gone, my heart almost stopped;
for, I was standing on hallowed ground.

For most others, it was a place, insignificant;
for me, it retained the divine;

Domain Of Despair

We’re living in an age of dwindling hope;
where nothing’s considered fair;
many have lost their ability to cope;
living in a domain of despair.

This kingdom is a cesspool of confrontations;
so called “science” become mere opinion;
casting us into the prophesied tribulations;
fueled

Diminishing Candle

I feel so empty and somewhat defeated;
depressed, by a world gone dark;
as division and hate; become deep-seated;
this life is no walk in the park.

I write thoughts; attempting to be a candle;
shining the bright light of the truth;
but loneliness makes it so difficult

Greatness

Why, to greatness, do so many aspire;
it’s a form of chasing an elusive wind;
what is achieved being rich and retire;
when your being, really has no end?

Greatness is never what you think or do;
nor something on which you’ll depend;
greatness isn’t earned;
