We live in a kingdom, dominated by lies;
where the truth rarely stands a chance;
a world where the fools, outnumber the wise;
while the majority is held in a trance.

I stood on the precipice of failure;
looking out upon the abyss;
I cannot imagine death’s allure;
thinking of all that I’d miss.

In the midst of despair; I became excited;
had death become my friend;

Nearly every day, death takes a prisoner;
often times, it’s ten million, or so;

Many friends and loved ones simply moved on;
no longer living in this season of today;

Sadness and sorrow are spices of life
