Sweet Dreams

I often dream of the future or past;
sometimes; both together;
I dream of a love; destined to last;
souls joined forever.

In this life; we’re generations, apart;
tho I feel love in her eyes;
I sense we share the same heart;
her love; held in disguise.

Deep within; is an eternal connection;
only felt by a few;
the earth is only reality’s reflection;
in heaven; all are made new.

What about the woman I dream about;
I hope we become one above;
sometimes, I fear she’ll me find out;
my beautiful one sided love;

Dreams are thoughts; given light;
some are in physical form;
love expressed; during the night;
making even the heart warm.

I keep my dreams, close to the vest;
embarrassed, someone might know;
unrequited love can make me a pest;
rejection is wind blown snow.

Tonight, I’ll dream of a love I miss;
although it may be a mistake;
dreams can’t portray the feel of a kiss;
when, suddenly, I’m awake.
