I rarely wish to be all alone ;
I think that I need someone around;
their presence, I feel I need to own;
so that I can be their own clown.
For life is meant to be a party;
at least most of us think its so;
but in the end we all feel sorry;
for the party never helps us grow.
We think we’ve discovered reality;
the greater truth that’s there;
but it’s merely superficiality,
to mask our deep despair.
Most of us never want to be lonely;
we usually want someone there;
but when it consists of us only;
there is still a higher source to care.
Though we rarely think it a gift;
its the greatest gift that can be;
for deeper knowledge gives a lift;
an understanding that sets us free.
Discover the truth about solitude;
life’s not what it seems to be;
in loneliness you will conclude;
only Peace can set you free.
In deepest sorrow, remember the One,
who ordered the waves, “Be still.”
You may be sure before day is done,
that Peace will give you His fill.
