Mud Slinging
In distant times, people had duels;
to settle their differences;
propriety required they adhere to rules;
not destroy others, with inferences.
Words could tend to destroy reputations;
especially when the words were lies;
countering words with their own allegations;
slinging mud, became their replies.
Conflicts are no way to live our lives;
each telling lies on our brother;
each wearing honor, as our disguise;
each, no better than the other.
There is no better example than politics;
slinging mud has reached its peak;
many of them; crooks; the others, heretics;
their mud slinging, becomes unique.
Our world is engulfed in total negativity;
using words to now fight our duels;
in spite of the need for some objectivity;
mud slinging is allowed in the rules.
Beware of those; always telling lies;
many, don’t have one clean hand;
they’re making their own mud pies;
to throw at your face; to land.
It’s far better to live your life singing;
than telling lies and making demands;
punctuating your words with mud slinging;
leaves you, with just mud in your hands.
