Shower Of Tears

I washed my face with tears of sorrow;
then washed it again with tears of joy.
How can I learn to face tomorrow;
with new purpose I need to employ?

Which of these tears were tonic;
ones which replenished my soul?
It seemed more than a bit ironic;
both tears achieved the same goal.

Tears are known to reduce toxicity;
all poisons within, they erase;
yet, they oft are accused of complicity
for your smile they usually replace.

Tears are a sign of the power of thought;
the evidence of the deepest emotion;
they bring about a change that’s brought;
an evidence of the Master’s devotion.

They wash the windows to the soul;
when the love seems to disappear;
their purpose: to prod and cajole;
that you know that Love is still near.

Tears are the closest link to the Master;
their energy implies He’s not through;
lovingly embracing; avoiding disaster;
you can feel that God’s crying too.

Tears are a symbol of the river of life;
signifying new life is to come;
whether brought on by joy or strife;
they proclaim you and the Master,  One.
