Sheep Of The Night

Some seem to have been born to lead;
while others are destined to follow;
a very few look out for others in need;
for, so many in this world are shallow.

Some follow, due to personal reasons;
while others, react out of intimidation;
nearly all follow, during some seasons;
for, following is a natural inclination.

Nearly all, are sheep in one way or another;
unable to make decisions, on their own;
following a natural born leader, or brother;
straying farther from a heavenly home.

During the day, most decisions are easy;
for, there’s better vision in the light;
then, in darkness, they begin to get queasy;
becoming the sheep of the night.

For evil, nighttime is much better than day;
for darkness suffices, to hide their deeds;
many more sheep, tend to follow their way;
desiring to satisfy their own needs.

For none of the sheep see clearly at night;
but evil knows exactly where he’s going;
few have the courage to turn to the light;
as the flock of the evil keeps growing.

Night is the time that evil loves best;
no longer in sight of living water;
leading them to the end of their quest;
evil leads his sheep to the slaughter.
