Shadows Of Corruption

Shadows Of Corruption

Truth and honor abide only in the light;
in the darkness, lurks destruction;
arrogance and pride stride through the night;
casting their shadows of corruption.

Pride, comes across a virtue; like confidence;
but a virtue often hungers to be fed;
arrogance is pride when it becomes too intense;
contempt is, by arrogance, bred.

Corruption rarely appears in the light;
when it does; it’s merely a shadow;
usually it chooses to remain out of sight;
fearing exposure to light’s glow.

Corruption is the orphan child of evil;
when virtues become expired;
both the father and mother of upheaval;
where honor is no longer desired.

Corruption is the ultimate carcass of pride;
sacrificing honor for fame;
ultimately faced with nowhere to hide;
become mere shadows of shame.

Temptations whispered, “No one will know,
and I’ll always be at your side.”
The death of honor caused evil to grow;
casting truth and honor aside.

In the essence of time; shall all be revealed;
truth will become a volcanic eruption;
the fate of the evil one shall become sealed;
leaving only the shadows of corruption.
