Shadow Of Self

Shade is caused when something blocks light;
creating the darkness, of a shadow;
that darkness translates to a form of night;
appearing as a shadowy meadow.

Shade is a form of diminished reality;
blocking the very Light of day;
Light shining through, restores normality;
guiding our path; showing the way.

Often, we remain standing in darkness;
and shadows are all that we see;
but when confronted by truth’s starkness;
we find, who we’re destined to be.

The Light of truth isn’t hindered by brothers;
that never has been their role;
the shadow blocking Light, isn’t from others;
it’s the shadow, created by our soul.

God created, out of the Light of his truth;
his wisdom, we were meant to accrue;
a shadow was cast, to protect us in youth;
and He allowed the truth to shine through.

We extended His shadow as we grew older;
by ourselves, we blocked His truth;
growing in foolishness; we became bolder;
no longer excused by our youth.

Tho the shadow remains, we now see the Light;
in spite of that shadow’s demonic goal;
turning to the One, who diminishes the night;
we circumvent the shadow of our soul.
