Selective Memory

All are concerned about loss of cognition;
when somehow we fail to remember;
often it’s caused by a physical condition;
when, in June, we think it’s December.

Sometimes our memory becomes selective;
we think what we want to be thinking;
times, when we’ve lied, we become elective;
claiming we forgot, we’d been drinking.

Who or what is it; controlling our mind;
where does selective memory begin;
are certain thoughts, by the Master declined;
or are all decisions, made within?

Our minds determine what we’re to remember;
and whatever we’re allowed to forget;
outside forces often attempt to dismember;
leaving only those thoughts we regret.

So often we forget; what we most need to know;
and are whispered thoughts from the Master;
for the Lord, alone, knows what makes us grow;
his thoughts can help us avert disaster.

Often we’re annoyed at things we forget;
and, in sadness, sometimes we cry;
often our forgetfulness causes us regret;
because, we don’t even know why.

The energy of angels is always nearby;
sharing wisdom; their ultimate quest;
whenever forgetfulness, makes you cry,
remember; that Father knows best.
