Second Guessing

Most of us realize we aren’t to be judging;
since none of us are fit to rule;
but, many are resistant; never budging;
assuming the mantle of a fool.

Very few are actually judges, in true reality;
having, neither temperament; nor training;
rendering judgements professing impartiality;
rejecting the majority; always complaining.

Many enter opinions; when they’re not asked;
always putting their two cents in;
“second guessing” is their favorite task;
and they tend to have a thick skin.

Others wish to be picked on a jury pool;
thinking it important to be needed;
sometimes, becoming an obstinate fool;
when their opinions go unheeded.

Many think that the Biblical admonition;
doesn’t refer to differences of opinion;
still it pertains to the human condition;
standing in place of love’s dominion.

Whenever we judge the thoughts of others;
we’re asserting that we know better;
instead we must allow brothers to be brothers;
whom we will love and respect forever.

You can almost hear the Master sigh;
“Please spend your time confessing;
for, when it comes time for you to die;
you won’t want them second guessing.”
