Runaway Life

Runaway Life

Life seems to begin, ever so slowly;
not even getting in a hurry;
creation of life is an act most holy;
why must it end in fury?

Much of life is stately and serene;
but evil resides; within;
most think of life as being a dream;
not a contest, we must win.

Life is truly a type of competition;
of opposing forces, within;
fighting against forces of perdition;
only our faith could win.

Pride becomes a prevailing factor;
our arrogance sets us apart;
on life’s stage; we are the actor;
often nursing a broken heart.

Life often becomes out of control;
it seems there’s nowhere to turn;
demonic forces are after our soul;
and there’s a truth we must learn.

As we grow older; our life speeds up;
bringing more seasons of strife;
reaching a point, where many give up;
from facing this runaway life.

Every season of life; must soon end;
in death, life faces another day;
drawn to the light; the soul will ascend;
when lasting peace is here to stay.
