Righteous  Anger

How can righteous and anger go together;
It just doesn’t seem like they fit;
much like wearing short pants with a sweater;
or trying to stand while you sit.

It seems as if those, most likely to forgive;
simply love to embrace their anger;
its almost as though their forgiveness, outlived;
they’re unable to conceal their rancor.

Love is the foundation for righteousness;
and anger is thought close to hate;
but how does love mixed with spitefulness
even begin to relate?

Its like offering a rose of Love;
so its stem has the thorns sticking out;
protruding through its receiver’s glove;
not leaving its message in doubt.

For how on earth does one love,
in the midst of tightly clinched teeth;
embracing heavenly thoughts above;
while his sword of anger’s unsheathed

When such strange people are out and about,
they puzzle me much of the time;
it almost seems that they’re inside out;
acting as if to smile is a crime.

For such people, Love seems a stranger;
whether they follow the Bible, or Koran;
and they may be putting soul in danger;
for righteous anger is an oxymoron.
