Reunion’s Eve
My sixtieth reunion, awaits me tomorrow;
but tomorrow has come and gone;
it has become yesterday; to my sorrow;
without it; I still must live on.
I felt such love, welling up inside, that day;
I had to dry the tears in my eyes;
only joy and love make me feel that way;
bringing such a pleasant surprise.
So many, that I knew from so long ago;
I was a different person then;
to some; I was just another so and so;
now meeting them over again.
But the passage of years, no longer mattered;
It seemed we all remembered the good;
although so many classmates were scattered;
all of us clearly understood.
It’s rare to see so many people smile;
everyone was glad to be there;
able to laugh and reminisce, for a while;
knowing that all others care.
It was a temporary respite from night;
where only love and peace abound;
it was the dawn of dawn’s early light;
where love and respect were found.
This day of inclusion; ended far too soon;
sanctioned by the Master above;
memories, barely beyond the womb;
a picture of heaven and love.
