Reaping And Sowing
Why is no apology ever quite enough;
can’t we just say, “I’m sorry?”
Sometimes, I feel like just giving up;
feeling like someone’s quarry.
Must I reap from every seed I’ve sown;
can’t others forgive and forget?
In our suffering; our stature has grown;
life can’t be lived in regret.
Guilt is the reason for all our reaping;
we carry our guilt for years
guilt is often what leads to weeping;
for, guilt is only shed by tears.
Nothing ever happens without a reason;
there is always a price to be paid;
this lifetime is merely our growing season;
the scales must be weighed.
A seed of life was planted in perfection;
the object of God’s perfect love;
the serpent planted the seed of rejection;
contaminating the kingdom above.
Earth was created that life might grow;
created in the darkness of night;
faith was the link; that we might know;
our Master is the Lord of Light.
Reaping and sowing had to become;
earth was sown; the seed of night;
the evil, within us, had to succumb;
in death; we return to the light.
