Reality's Puzzle
Reality is the puzzle called life;
we each are one of its pieces;
definer of both peace and strife;
each has signed long leases.
We spend a lifetime, trying to fit in;
never seem to know where we are;
fearing the end before we begin;
it all seems a little bit bizarre.
Wearing a coat called destiny;
I sometimes shed it by choice;
trying to find what’s best for me;
but, destiny still has his voice.
Love and hate demand attention;
each of them tugging his way;
fading into a different dimension;
often, I have little to say.
My puzzle piece seeking prominence;
but, I often wish I could quit;
for whenever I seek to gain dominence;
my puzzle piece just doesn’t fit.
Often, I wish that reality could change;
adapt itself, to fit my situation;
but if all reality would, itself, rearrange;
I still might not fit in the new creation.
I believe there’s a place that I fit in;
but is it mine, or destiny’s choice?
I’m at loss to know how to begin;
so I’ll listen for destiny’s voice.
