Reality’s Metaphors

Dreams are metaphors of reality;
for true reality is thought, alone;
illusions are the only sensuality;
bodies are only ours, on loan.

A veil separates heaven and earth;
guarded by a flaming sword;
representing both death and birth;
and the place of final reward.

Truths of life are hidden by the veil;
where all thoughts are concealed;
the illusion of earth serves as a jail;
the place all lies are revealed.

Water is the complete metaphor of life;
like an ocean; life ebbs and flows;
bringing us love, conflict and strife;
there’s no limit to where it goes.

The ocean is the metaphor of eternity;
infinity, and all within it;
an image of the womb of divinity;
motions of waves helped begin it.

The womb is where life gets breath;
the body is the illusion from earth;
the coccoon is the metaphor of death;
the butterfly; the sign of rebirth.

The rainbow is the sign of God’s promise,
to never again flood the whole earth;
continuing to bring tribulations upon us;
till man returns to his home of birth.
