Poignant

Poignant

What is it about thoughts that change to feelings;
that totally engenders the way that we feel;
much like removing the onion’s peelings;
exposing on the inside, intricacies of real?

It’s far more complex than good versus bad;
delving in the reality of what’s real;
and, can’t be explained as happy and sad;
it goes deeply within the surreal.

For happy’s far more than a smile on your face;
there’s a depth within each layer of being;
for the deepest feelings far within you embrace;
there’s a big difference between feeling and seeing.

Thoughts are raindrops on the surface of being
like a tiny splash; they spread all around;
but the deeper thoughts have effects; unseen;
and their impact’s universally found.

The world of thought, in itself, is endless;
they’re no boundaries, to keep all within;
the deepest thoughts;  an unforgiving mistress;
where deepest sadness has gone to live in.

For thoughts are neither married nor single;
they simply merge and bump together within;
while together, thinking, they’ll mingle;
newer thoughts and realities begin.

In eternity, all life is an unending matrix;
a permanent mixture of both good and bad;
and its interrelationships tend to inflict;
feelings, simultaneously, happy and sad.

Poignant is a term that describes the feeling;
both happy and sad, together;
such poignant thoughts send the mind reeling;
poignancy of thought lasts forever.
