A destiny awaits us all somewhere;
each has something to do or be;
God’s angels often guide us there;
but freedom has never been free.
All pay a price for the life we live;
whether it be great or small;
each of us; within; have love

Seeking love, we look at appearance;
as tho, that’s where love is found;
a beautiful face often runs interference;
tho love may not be around.
Then our attention turns from the face;
studying the body’s physique;
most tend to desire an alluring shape;

Reunion’s Eve
My sixtieth reunion, awaits me tomorrow;
but tomorrow has come and gone;
it has become yesterday; to my sorrow;
without it; I still must live on.
I felt such love, welling up inside, that day;
I had to dry the tears in my eyes;

The journey’s been long; and I’m so tired,
acquiring knowledge along the way;
trying to accomplish, whatever required;
now nearing the end of my stay.
Many consider this lifetime as a quest;
a pilgrimage of exploration;
others keep their opinions close to the vest;

Yet To Be
Most of us think we’ve already arrived;
in the future; we’ve yet to see;
instead; most of us have merely survived;
our future is yet to be.
Few conceive thoughts of becoming dead;
most plan for a future life;
oblivious to all future sorrows, ahead;
Feelings Of Love
Words of love, have so little meaning;
it’s only love’s feelings that count;
love makes all of us feel we’re dreaming;
all of our troubles; we’ll surmount.
Love is the power that makes birds sing;
and fishes to swim in the seas;

Nighttime Lover
In the midst of a lonely, moonlight sky;
in vain; I long for another;
in my mind, I can feel her pass by;
my imaginary nighttime lover.
I can never find her; in the middle of the day;
her energies are in another place;

A sense of humor is considered important;
for those, facing sorrows and strife;
becoming a valued manner of deportment;
carrying us all, throughout this life.
Humor allows everyone to laugh aloud;
circumventing uncomfortable silence;
