My failures have left my ego smarting;
meanwhile; I feel lost and alone;
as I draw near my preplanned parting;
I sense plans to call me home.

my temper often gets in my way;

often because they think they’re so smart;
playing their mind games; day after day;
revealing a lack of love in their heart.
They say something; they know isn’t true;
seeking followers to do their bidding;

I feel as tho still a child of youth;
wondering if I’ll ever grow;

praying others never know.

Do unto others; as you’d have them to do;
once described as the golden rule;
but times have changed; now; a different view;
kindness is the act of a fool.
Everyone is seeking to gain an advantage;
success is all about winning;

I’ve always preferred a happy ending;
when everything works out fine;
perhaps, I’m even a bit condescending;
thinking God will bring all in line.

Anything within; that we undertook;

where does such power begin;
can breadth, even surpass all length;
or is all authority, within?
These are just words, making little sense;

Life is comprised of human civilizations;
separated from a universal One;
then, further divided into warring nations;
a prisoner to pride; they’d become.
