Our Nemesis
Our Nemesis
No one ever lives a perfect life;
no matter how hard we try;
facing endless sorrows and strife;
it seems, some barely get by.
What is that energy; hidden, deep within;
that always seems to avoid detection;
from where did it start; how did it begin;
it’s genesis was love’s rejection.
It seems a harmless affront for a child;
having thoughts of taking contol;
such thoughts, must become exiled;
lest they become our life’s role.
Thoughts are the blueprints of reality;
the mind is where all sins begin;
thoughts, in heaven; on earth come to be;
our destiny rides in the wind.
What we perceive of, as a matter of taste;
is alterered by our nemesis, inside;
many even shun the blessings of grace;
overcome by uncontrollable pride.
When given life and a kingdom of beauty;
who’s angels even control the weather.
The prodigal turncoats; and traitors of duty;
reject God; thinking they know better.
Pride is our nemesis; the seed of corruption;
the Trojan horse; we all have inside;
pride will bring this kingdom’s destruction;
God will destroy all vestiges of pride.
