Only God Knows Where
Only God Knows Where
I’m walking a path, where I’ve been before;
a journey shrouded in mystery;
I’m looking around for an exit door;
to become a part of past history.
I have seen everything; that I came to see;
and done everything; I can do;
I wish I’d find someone who loved me;
before my journey is through.
True love can never be borrowed or bought;
tho it abides, everywhere;
by two, who are lonely, love is sought;
each wanting a love to share;
I’ve been in love a few times before;
but I was much younger then;
now that I’m old; love’s shown me the door;
I’m back to where I began.
For this life is an infinite eternal cycle;
we meet ourselves coming and going;
its constant ebb and flow, has no rival;
love’s friction keeps the soul growing.
I’ve walked this path, without knowing;
if need be; I’ll walk it once more;
forever reaping; what I was sowing;
foregiveness doesn’t keep score.
The love, I seek; has always been there;
God, waiting, to grant love’s reprieve;
we’ll meet again; only God knows where;
me and my precious Eve.
