On That Day

Life is the race that must be completed;
although there’s no loser or winner;
a race where none are actually defeated;
and everyone thinks they’re a beginner.

Tho you don’t think it; you’ve been here before;
this isn’t your first rodeo
if you don’t complete it; you’ll return once more;
there’ll be no other place to go.

All of life is a flow of consciousness;
a wave washing in from an endless sea;
crashing the shores of consequence;
then, returning out; seeking to be.

For all are as free as the winds and waves;
love is our eternal destiny;
former inhabitants of empty graves;
we are, where God wants us to be.

We’re the living water with no place to go;
affected by the heat or cold;
in heat, we evaporate; in cold, we’re snow;
in both; we still grow old.

For a season we become filaments of light;
pure joy, in the Master’s eyes;
resounding love, vacates the night;
death ushers in, our next sunrise.

No eye has seen; nor has any ear heard;
what we all shall see On That Day;
all glory and honor emanates from a word;
when the Lord of All has His say!
