Too many sunsets, time laid waste;
and many a sunrise too;
so much of our life, evaporates;
just like the morning dew.
Many are the roads we’ve traveled;
even more, the ones we’ve missed;
often the fiber of life gets unraveled;
too many opportunities, dismissed.
Some say hindsight is the best vision;
but, they don’t know what life’s about;
life cannot undergo constant revision;
often bemoaning how things turned out.
A road behind, shows up in the mirror;
it’s no longer our destination;
past is something we don’t see or hear;
it’s simply’s a mind’s flirtation.
Many old friends have gone their way;
our paths never crossing anymore.
I cannot dwell on them every new day;
once they’ve left; closing that door.
Today is the sunrise, lighting a new day;
bringing new challenges along;
a sunset, signals the past must not stay;
but, allow for another new dawn.
We left those old roads for a good reason;
the Master led us to something new;
each road traveled, is a special season;
so it’s time to bid old roads adieu.
