My Search For Love
It seems forever; since I began my quest;
many lifetimes have come and gone;
becoming exhilerated; and then, depressed;
yet, still, my pilgrimage goes on.
I’d thought that I’d seen you a long time ago;
but I lost you in a crowded store;
then, I saw you pass by, in wind blown snow;
each time; was different than before.
We were like two ships, passing in the night;
seeing; yet not knowing where to begin;
once we’d passed; we were soon out of sight;
each believing we’d meet once again.
I had entered this life in search of my love;
whom I’d lost in time and space;
I searched high and low; below and above;
hoping and praying to see her face.
We hadn’t returned to life at the same time;
tho I had grown old; you were still young;
both are still ageless in the kingdom devine;
for we were two hearts beating as one.
I really don’t know; if you’re searching for me;
perhaps you’ve seen how old I’ve become;
I’d much rather that I’d been cast into the sea;
than to know we no longer are one.
Perhaps I’m living in the illusions of old age;
thinking that somewhere I’ll find love;
no matter what; life soon turns my last page;
and I’ll resume my search, above.
