The Death Of Tomorrow
The Death Of Tomorrow
My life has been lived in search of tomorrow;
yesterday was unable to satisfy;
today is filled with heartaches and sorrow;
tomorrow becomes the day that I die.
Love and affection rated high on my mind;
and suddenly, I find I’m alone;
passionate love has now left me behind;
my love was an unpaid loan.
Somewhere there’s a someone for everyone;
at least, that’s what I’ve been told;
but I’ve been searching since life had begun;
and now, I am growing too old.
Each day becomes the dawn of expectations;
but tomorrow has lost interest in me;
potential lovers, all ignore my flirtations;
I’m not who they want me to be.
I can see and feel love in the eyes of a few;
tho my love, for them, is unrequited;
they are younger; and don’t share my view;
thoughts of me, leave them unexcited.
A woman of dreams was sent from above;
her passionate kiss left me shaken;
my heart and soul; both felt her love;
until; from the dream; I’d awaken.
Yesterday is gone; it shall never return;
today only has loneliness and sorrow;
only in heaven, will passions still burn;
love returns in the death of tomorrow.
