Multiplicity
It seemed, at least, two lifetimes ago;
I was a child in a family of five;
by comparison, life seemed to move slow;
now I’m the only one, still alive.
By age 9; I had another sister and brother;
they each have their own family, now;
each of us live many miles from each other;
it seems a second family, somehow.
I was the life of a student; many years;
even spent a few years as a teacher;
those past lives leave nothing but tears;
for now, I sit on life’s bleacher.
I once lived the life of an entrepreneur;
life’s greatest teacher of sorrow;
even with hard work; success is unsure;
uncertainty; the hope for tomorrow.
When I was young; it seemed life would last;
it’s horizon was well beyond sight;
after many lifetimes; the torch has been passed;
and my day has turned into night.
Love is the greatest journey in all of life;
where all have laughed and cried ;
in each of two lives; I married a wife;
one, left me; and the other; died.
All life is eternal; you can be quite certain;
we face times of sorrows and duplicity;
Another life awaits; beyond the final curtain;
for life was created as a multiplicity.
