Love Unspoken
Many rooms, are in the house of the mind;
some of them allow for visitation;
others, for privacy, carefully designed;
and a few, for simply vacation.
Many open rooms are very revealing;
some are too open; in fact;
discretion might suggest concealing;
words are often, hard to take back.
Once a thought leaves the lips as word;
picked up and digested by whomever;
throughout eternity, it can be heard;
words are created, to last forever.
Some words, carry the warmth of emotion;
tho the truth; such words may lack;
words of love, commandeer one’s devotion;
and, difficult, or impossible, to take back.
Many don’t speak love; their feelings, token;
within them, they have reservations;
unfortunately, they leave their love. unspoken;
avoiding embarassing confrontations.
Sometimes we miss love’s healing power;
overwhelmed by the fear of rejection;
without words, love can’t blossom and flower;
thoughts shouldn’t require protection.
Words are a legacy defining who we may be;
thoughts hidden; becomes two hearts broken;
only truth, given voice; can set us all free;
all become slaves; when love is unspoken.
