Love Thy Neighbor
Love Thy Neighbor
Some act as tho God was asking a favor;
wondering; “Is God speaking to me?”
When He commanded we “love thy neighbor”
we asked, “Who might that neighbor be?”
So devoid of love, we’d become so deluded;
we expected the Master to name names;
wanting to determine who might be excluded;
did we think He was just playing games?
God wasn’t referring to only those most polite;
nor only ones attending church, every week;
The Master didn’t limit it, to those seeing the light;;
God included the most violent; with the meek.
We must love the neighbor who broke in our house;
and another who stole our new car;
also included, is that philandering spouse;
isn’t God taking love too far?
Just ask yourself; “Which child must I love?”
Are some children just born to hate;
harken to the message from the Father, above;
just love; before it’s too late.
Life was first created as a single entity;
we’re all born with evil inside;
tho, now divided; we’re prodigals of divinity;
out of love; our Master died.
I am commanded to love and judge not;
I needed new eyes to see;
perhaps I strayed from the truth; and forgot;
that unlovable neighbor, is me.
