Lord Lift Me Up

Dear Lord, I reach out in ernest to Thee;
beseeching you, to hear my prayer;
transform me to what you want me to be;
only your love can take me there.

I am, but the product of your creation;
a prodigal became my first role;
you paid the cost for my salvation;
I am a child of your soul.

You are the Master; and Lord of all;
I am weak; but you are strong;
you’re there for me; whenever I fall;
tho I feel, I no longer belong.

My soul is adrift, on an endless ocean;
no destiny remains in my sight;
to you, I send love and sincere devotion;
you, alone, can end my plight.

You’ve given me a talent and obligation;
to share with others, who hurt;
I find myself dwelling in frustration;
tempting my soul to desert.

I can’t live; basking in your perfection;
I need you daily; to survive;
grant me, Lord; your continued protection;
it’s through love; I’m still alive.

Lift me up, daily; as only you can;
your wisdom; wrapped with love;
my soul has become a lonely man;
give me your strength from above.
