Looking The Other Way
Some things in life; we just can’t accept;
our mind can’t believe it can be;
so toxic; the mind will intentionally reject;
it’s said we’re too blind to see.
Sometimes; we can see, only too well;
tho we pretend it’s not so;
some would face the fires of hell;
than a truth; no one must know.
Often we hide the truth from ourselves;
willingly accepting a lie;
even to the point of believing in elves;
until the day that we die.
This concept has a myriad of permutations;
our mind is capable of self deception;
when rendered helpless by toxic allegations;
the mind chooses truth’s rejection.
Lies are thoughts of a mind’s invention;
with a truth; we cannot accept;
sometimes those lies, are not of intention;
when a mind refuses to connect.
Often our thoughts will believe a lie;
when the truth doesn’t make sense;
we’ll stand behind it, until we die;
even when that lie is immense.
Nothing can change; at the end of the day;
pretending that truth isn’t so;
love isn’t served; looking the other way;
only truth, can make love grow.
