Lives Not Lived

The longer I live; the more things I regret;
I’ve fallen so often, along the way;
new beginnings, I’ve attempted to beget;
can’t change the past into today.

I’ve had an overwhelming number of dreams;
each one fashioning laudable goals;
but, nothing ever works out the way it seems;
consequence stands at destiny’s controls.

I wish I knew then; what I have learned, since;
life is about love and service;
mistakes aren’t buried by recompense;
unless they occurred on purpose.

We plan for most everything that we do;
blueprints should always come first;
so, when we plan for a character, to imbue;
for righteousness, all must thirst.

A building, we design, begins at the surface;
everything requires a proper foundation;
no one’s life should begin, devoid of purpose;
such only leads to life-long consternation.

Purpose is the foundation of the Master’s will;
all of his children must observe it;
the Master’s will is God’s purpose, still;
and all life was created to serve it.

Each life created, was given a gift; a purpose;
failure and pride led to it’s fall;
for those who kept their gift neath the surface;
it’d been better had they not lived at all.
