Live In The Moment

We’ve been told to live in the moment;
for the now, is all we’re given;
we’re our own, most dangerous opponent;
for often, by pride, we’re driven.

We can’t dwell on all our yesterdays;
and don’t even think of tomorrows;
all we’re promised are a few todays;
and memories of endless sorrows.

Time is the enemy of one and all;
it sends us the greatest teachers;
in the essence of time; many fall;
we cannot learn on the bleachers.

Many of us say, “Some other time”
but, such a time, may never come;
today becomes tomorrow, sublime;
when nothing, we plan, gets done.

Many live, anticipating a new dawn;
tho dawn came, each day this week;
how long must time simply go on;
what makes the next dawn unique?

Live in the moment; we’re encouraged;
your death may await; in the next;
don’t ever let your heart be discouraged;
your lack of time, is a faulty pretext.

Boldly go forth; as no others dare;
strike while the iron is hot;
show the Master how much you care;
always giving; more than you got.
