Live For The Now

Most of us only live for tomorrow;
all’ dreaming what we’ll become;
often leading to unending sorrow;
long before life is done.

Not a lot of our lives are preplanned;
we usually choose an option available;
one, whose income will satisfy demand;
where future growth is scaleable.

Day to day life just doesn’t matter;
we all seem to get on by;
our future, we think; a silver platter;
on which we all can rely.

We’re taught we should save for tomorrow;
and pile up stocks and large sums;
we’re often surprised by what borrow;
so that tommorow can come.

We all look back on the good times;
but it seems they’re all in the past;
and experience very often reminds;
that the good times often don’t last.

But, what of the good times of tomorrow;
remember how we’d sacrificed and saved?
To survive the bad times, we had to borrow;
and those loans, must now be repaid.

All things good, will still be here, tomorrow;
for your future you can't rely on the Dow;
we may learn  from past mistakes and sorrow;
but true wisdom is learned in the now.
