Life's Drama

Some people claim to hate drama;
but, that is merely a ruse;
for drama brings more than trauma;
it’s also life’s masseuse.

In many of the acts of life’s play;
we often become worn out;
especially, with the day to day;
but, that’s what life’s about.

A cast of characters we meet each day;
say much; and yet, little at all;
then in the background, they stay;
til it’s time for the curtain call.

It’s only a few who gain our attention;
the salt and pepper of life’s feast;
were they not there; we’d need invention;
for they are the bread of life’s yeast.

A play without drama is dull, indeed;
like taking a nap, wide awake;
nothing’s happening to fill any need;
such life is a sad mistake.

We all wish life could be a parade;
devoid of sadness and sorrow;
growth can’t exist in such a charade;
so destiny still hides tomorrow.

In life’s drama, we each have our role;
enduring the complexities of life’s oration;
becoming closer to God; our goal:
receiving the Master’s standing ovation.
