Life Without Purpose
Life can become a meandering stream;
much like a traveling circus;
we start out; by following our dream;
then become a life without purpose.
Many lives follow a long circuitous path;
we meet ourselves; coming and going;
division and frustration leads us to laugh;
while, knowledge keeps on growing.
The older I get; the less sense it all makes;
who is it, inside; that sets our goals;
success never comes; without mistakes;
purpose, remains hidden in our souls.
Believing we’re given a gift of our choice;
determined that we will succeed;
failing to listen for the Master’s voice;
only God can fulfill each need.
Purpose has slowly evaporated from life;
leaving me to wonder why I live;
purpose has taken my business and wife;
perhaps, I’m alive to forgive.
Today, I am old; unloved, and alone;
there seems no purpose for me;
sad and lonely; I long to go home;
if only I had eyes to see.
In perfection; everyone has a purpose;
assigned to God’s people, above;
all; conceived for the Master’s service;
sharing the Master’s love.
